ode to the mother

being a mother is sacrifice. being a mother is hard work. being a mother is never giving up. being a mother means your heart will hurt. being a mother means your heart will love. being a mother means you will worry.

being a mother means you will clean the same windows over and over again of little finger smudges. being a mother means laundry that is never ending. being a mother means you will always wonder..."Am i doing this right?". being a mother means when a knee is scuffed or someone is unkind... you are the one who can make it all better. being a mother means you will always need more sleep than you get.

being a mother is discovering life's simple pleasures like the moon, birds, and wet grass on bare feet all over again. being a mother means even though yesterday was mother's day, we still have the obligation to those who can't do for themselves, and that nobody does it like mommy. being a mother means teaching your children the works of our Heavenly Father and the Love of our Savior Jesus Christ. being a mother is joy. being a mother can bring sorrow. being a mother means the same mess will be cleaned day in and day out without pay checks or certificates that say.. EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!

being a mother means that while I am typing this I am also cleaning my kitchen, fixing lunch, and stopped to give hugs and kisses three times already.

there is nothing so sweet as the joy of being a mother.

To my mother, my grandmother, and my great friends that help teach me to be a mother... I LOVE YOU! Together we can truly rejoice and understand what mother's day is truly about, because we understand what BEING A MOTHER means.
